15. Remove and discard the four throttle
plate screws and remove the two
throttle plates.
13. On carburetors having the following
parts
installed in the throttle body,
insert the tip of a
screw driver beneaththe pump operating
rodwasher
and pry the washer and seal out
of the throttle
body.

Before removing the throttle plate
screws,
the spread-out tip of each screw
due to
previous staking should be removed
to
preventdamaging the threads inthe
throt
tle shaft. The tip of each screw
can be
removed by careful filing. Do not
damage
the throttle shaft or throttle plates
with
the file.
16. With pliers, pull out the fast
idle cam
retainer.
NOTE
14. Lightly scribe both throttle
plates along
the throttle shaft to facilitate
alignment upon re
assembly. Also mark each throttle
plate and its
corresponding bore with identifying
numbers or
letters to insure proper reassembly.

17. Slide the fast idle cam off
the idle cam
shaft. Also lift the dashpot lever
return spring
off the spring post on the throttle
body of the dash
pot equipped carburetor.
