LUBRICATION
For the RE, in addition to bearing lubrication, engine oil is used also for rotor cooling, to prevent wear of the gas seals in the working chambers and to improve airtightness.
For rotor cooling, a portion of the engine oil is injected into the inner part of the rotor through jets in the eccentric shaft.
The centripetal and centrifugal forces which are each generated two times per rotor rotation cause two discharges and drainages of the oil within the rotor.

Gas seal lubrication and sealing of the working chamber are accomplished by the formation of an oil film discharged by the metering oil pump through the oil nozzle.
