4. Using Snap-On Tool No. MC-119, remove 
the adapter body screw and discard the adapter 
body screw gasket.

1. Using two 7/16-inch open-end flat
wrenches, 
hold the dashpot lock nut and remove the dashpot 
2. Slip the dashpot out of the throttle body 
and discard the remaining dashpot gasket.
NOTE
The dashpotis used only on carburetors 
for Mercury engines with automatic trans
missions.
5. Remove the adapter body and adapter body 
gasket. Discard the gasket.
NOTE
The spark valve is used only on the Lincoln 
carburetor.

3. Using a 1-inch open-end wrench, remove 
the spark valve and discard the gasket.
NOTE
Never attempt adjustment of this unit.

6. Remove the two idle adjusting needles and 
springs. Discard the idle needles.
