Do not remove the cam retainer pin and the fast idle cam.
3. From the underside of the throttle body, remove the distributor passage check valve retainer and discard the nylon check valve.
NOTE
In some models there are no distributor check valve passage. On later models the distributor passage was drilled for future use and plugged with a small brass plug.
4. Remove the pump rod felt packing and retainer washer. Discard the felt.

5. If it is necessary to remove the throttle shaft, scribe a line lightly across each throttle plate along the edge of the throttle shaft and mark each plate and its corresponding throttlebore with identifying marks or letters to insure proper reassembly. Remove the four throttle plate screws and slide the throttle plates out of the throttle shaft. Slide the throttle shaft out of the throttle body.

D. DISASSEMBLY - DIVORCED CHOKE ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the three thermostat housing screws, retainers, thermostat housing and discard the gasket.
2. Remove the choke housing plate screw and the choke housing plate.
3. Remove the choke shaft nut, lockwasher and spacer. Then remove the shaft and lever assembly and the thermostat lever, link and piston assembly.
This concludes the disassembly procedure for carburetors of the 885-FFC series. The following disassembly procedure is for the Model 885-FFG carburetor. In general the disassembly is similar to the procedure given above for the 885-FFC series with one major exception: The removal and disassembly of the governor unit which is an integral part of the throttle body.
