1955 Corvette Prototype
GM design chief Harley Earl, suggested this mild facelift for ’55 or ’56, crafted on a production 1954 model. The main
changes involved a neat egg crate grill, front fender vents, and a sculpted “shadow box” rear deck, as on the Corvette
based 1954 Motorama Corvair coupe. Ultimately, greater changes were made in the 1956 model year.
