F. FUEL LEVEL ADJUSTMENT -For
models without an external fuel level adjustment. |
(1) Some 2300 and 4150 models have an
access on the end of the fuel bowl and a sight
plug on the side opposite the fuel inlet. Remove
the sight plug and check the fuel level at the sight
plug port with the engine running. The fuel should
be on line with the threads at the bottom of the
sight plug port. If the level is not correct, STOP
THE ENGINE. Remove the access hole plug, insert
a screw driver in the hole and bend the float tab
up or down, to raise or lower the float. Recheck
the adjustment . |

(5) With the car on a level surface and
the engine running, the fuel level should be on
line with the threads at the bottom of sight plug
port. (Plus or minus 1/32 inch tolerance.) |

(2) On models without an access hole,
with a sight plug, check the fuel level at the sight
plug port. To re-set the level, remove the fuel
bowl and check the level with the correct dry
float gauge. A change of 1/16 inch of the dry float
setting will alter the fuel level 1/8 inch. |
(6) To correct the fuel level, loosen the
lock screw (Figure 44) and turn the adjusting nut |
