On models with the external adjustment,

are not interchangeable. |

|
(1) On 4160 with mechanical secondarys,
adjust the fast idle speed on the bench. With the
fast idle adjusting screw on the highest step of the
fast idle cam, adjust the screw using a drill to
obtain a clearance of .014 to .016 from the throttle
plate to throttle bore. |

(2) All models with external fuel level
adjustment maybe adjusted by inverting the pri
mary or secondary fuel bowl, then loosen the
lock screw enough to allow the adjusting nut
to rotate. Turn the adjusting nut until the float
lever or the base of the float is parallel with the
floor of the bowl. |

On other models, the fast idle cam
screw should just touch the lowest step of the fast
idle cam at curb idle with the choke plate wide open.
This must be done before adjusting the idle adjust
ing needles. |
