transmission, a dashpot is incorporated
in the car
buretor to prevent stalling upon sudden
deceler
ation. The Model 1901 Carburetor for
the Lincoln
has a spark valve which aids in selecting
the cor
rect degree of spark advance upon
acceleration.
The Holley Centri-Vac Governor on
the Model
1901-FFG truck carburetor has been
designed and
engineered as an integral part of
the carburetor.
This unit accurately controls engine
speed without
excessive over-run or surging, regardless
of
variations in the load on the engine.
Z. APPLICATION
All applications of the carburetor
model 1901
have a standard four bolt 1-1/4 inch
S.A.E. mount
ing flange with a 1-7/16 inch throttle
bore. The
venturi size of the carburetor for
the Ford heavy
duty truck, beginning with the 1952
models, is
approximately 1-3/32 inch. The carburetor

3. MAJOR SUBASSEMBLIES
The Model 1901 carburetor is composed
of
two major subassemblies, the main
body assembly
and the throttle body assembly. The
die cast main
body contains the idle tubes, main
well tubes,
power valve, main jets, floats and
fuel inlet valve,
accelerating pump, and the various
air bleed pas
sages. The cast aluminum throttle
body contains
the idle adjusting needles, the choke
plates and
throttle plates, and choke and throttle
levers.
Throttle bodies of certain specific
carburetors
include various special equipment
items such as
the dashpot, governor, and spark
valve.
