                      DESCRIPTION

1.   PRIMARY FUEL SYSTEMS             2. SECONDARY FUEL SYSTEXB (Four Bore
Only)

The following systems are the same for two
and four bore carburetors and will be explained in

detail only in the primary explanation.

The secondary side of the four bore models
includes the following systems:

                            A. FUEL INLET - Operates the same as on
the primary side receiving fuel through a connect

ing tube at the primary fuel inlet.
A. FUEL INLET SYSTEM - Controls and
supplies the fuel to be used by the other systems.

                            B. IDLE SYSTEM - Regulates fuel flow at
idle and low speeds.
B. IDLE SYSTEM - Provides a rich mixture
for smooth idle and low speed performance.

                            C. MAIN METERING - Provides the second
ary side with the correct mixture for heavy load

conditions.
C. ACCELERATING PUMP SYSTEM - Pro
vides additional fuel during acceleration.

D. MAIN METERING SYSTEM - Provides an
economical mixture for normal cruising condi

tions.
    D. POWER ENRICHMENT -On some models
a power valve may be incorporated in the second

ary metering body.

E. POWER ENRICHMENT SYSTEM - Pro
vides richer mixture when high power output is

desired.
    3. ACCESSORIES

        A. SECONDARY THROTTLE OPERATION -

                            (1) Vacuum -When engine speed increas
es to a point where additional breathing capacity

is needed, the vacuum controlled secondary

throttle plates open automatically.
F. CHOKE SYSTEM - Provides a means of
temporarily enriching the fuel mixture to aid in

the starting and operation of a cold engine.
