Form C228

Updated January 5, 2004 This manual covers the Model 4000 "Teapot" carburetor used on Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models in the early to mid-50's. This is one of the tougher carbs to restore properly. In its day it was known for causing fires, probably after being rebuilt incorrectly.

This model was replaced later in that decade by the (equally?) idiosyncratic modular four barrel carburetors, which are still being manufactured today.
